| Heartbeat | A lightweight regular ping (default 60s) sent by the agent to let the console know the laptop is online and healthy. |
| Telemetry | Automated data collected by the agent: active foreground apps, USB connections, hardware CPU/RAM usage, and web visits. |
| DPAPI | Windows Data Protection API — a built-in Windows cryptographic system that securely encrypts the Sentinel device token. |
| Offline Queue | A local encrypted database on the client machine that holds logs when there is no internet connection. |
| Policy | A set of monitoring rules (e.g. USB blocked, polling every 5s) created by admins in the console and pushed to endpoints. |
| GPO | Group Policy Object — a feature of Windows Active Directory used to automatically install software across all domain computers. |
